There are three beautiful golf courses located in Hardin County. They are the Silsbee Country Club, Wildwood Country Club and Idlewild Country Club.
Silsbee is a private nine hole course. It meanders through a beautiful meadow dotted with pine trees. It is known as a tough nine hole course. It has a Men’s Slope rating of 120 and a Women’s Slope rating of 118.
The annual MGA Invitational is the big event of the Silsbee Country Club. It is held in the middle of June.
The MGA-WGA Christian Care Center charity tournament is held in the middle of July and is open to the public. This is a partnership scramble tournament with entry fees of $100 per team.
The Silsbee Country Club is located west of Silsbee just off Highway 418.
Billy Paine manages the Golf Pro Shop and the golf course.
The Wildwood Golf Club is a semi-private 18 hole golf course known as the prettiest golf course in Southeast Texas. It features really goods greens that are in excellent condition.
It is open seven days a week to the public. On Super Tuesday and Super Thursday the green fees are $7.50. Other days the rate is $15 and weekends are $20. After 4 p.m. the rates are $7.50 and weekends are$10. They have senior weekday $7.50 and the senior weekend is $12.50. Junior weekdays are $7.50 and the junior weekend is $10.
The See the Light Tournament, and the Heart of East Texas Tournament are big events for the golfers and are held in May. There is also an MGA Memorial Tournament held in the end of May.

The Idlewild golf course is a 18 hole par 72 course that is known as a very challenging, tight course with lots of water hazards.
It is a semi-private course that is open to the public six days each week. The course is closed on Mondays. Tueday through Thursday the green fees are $13 per person. Fridays thay are $16 and Saturday, Sundays, and holidays they are $26. Privately owned carts are not allowed. Carts can be rented for $13 for singles or $9.50 per person for doubles.
The slope rating on the course for championship tees is 123 and par rating is 71.8.
The feature event of the year is the Senior Series Golf Tour on the first weekend in April. The Idlewild Open is June 19-20. The Idlewild Invitational is July 16-18.

Tee times are required. Proper dress is required. It is a soft spike facility.
The course is located six miles east of Sour Lake on Highway 105 or eight miles west of Beaumont on Highway 105.
